I am so glad I had this experience, I will never forget Mrs. Hay, Hang, and the other volunteers I met or the students we befriended.

The apartment is close to everything you need, walking distance to the gym, across from a large mall and movie theater, and there is a shop to buy anything you need right downstairs!

What a great program Mrs. Hay runs!

I stayed 5 weeks working on the program and met some other awesome volunteers. There were between 4 and 6 of us living in the apt. at a time which made for a fun environment, I had never taught English before but loved it right from the start!

The kids are great and they get excited when you walk through
the door, you can really take the classes in any direction you want although they do provide you with some guidance. The workload is easy with most of the classes on the weekends.

It was a cheep cab ride into the Old Quarter but I enjoyed being out of the city to enjoy the local lifestyle. The apartment is next to Keagnam tower (the tallest building in Hanoi). The apartment is close to everything you need, walking distance to the gym, across from a large mall and movie theater, and there is a shop to buy anything you need right downstairs!

Mrs. Hay takes us on weekly adventures with the older students 20+ years old: one week we went to ceramic village and all made pottery, we saw a few caves, went to museums together and much more. She really goes out of her way to make sure the volunteers are happy. I would recommend this work away for anyone who can stay at least a month because the kids get to know you and its sad when you have to say goodbye.
